Our glass breaking equipment provides, local and international customers with solutions for their enviromental waste management plans.

Glass packaging for food and drink is part of everyday life. Once we have consumed the contents, the bottle now becomes scrap. Questions need to be asked as to where the bottles end up (Landfill or open area) if it these 2 then we need to act? The need to Re-cycle, or, convert the Glass for Re-use is now becoming an integral part of the Environmental Waste Management Plan.

Due to the nature of Glass and its material properties we can convert it into a range of products, thus creating value. This creates jobs and alleviates poverty in rural areas and eliminates pressure on land fills in Urban areas.

Ridcon Services design and manufacture machinery to fulfil Glass Re-Cycling customer requirements, namely the Glass Breaker and the Cruncher.

The Glass Breaker machines (2 different sizes), developed with the purpose to convert the bottles into cullet size which is purchased by companies in the Glass manufacturing industry.

The Cruncher machines (5 different sizes) reduce bottles and plate glass to a mixed cullet size ( 4 mm to sand )depending on the thickness of the glass. The value added is in the following areas.

In the sand blasting industry as a sand blasting grit as import substitution. A water filtration medium in swimming pools, substituting sand. In the building industry for, brick, block, and paving manufacture, the glass substitutes sand and aggregate. The fine powder is a component in the manufacture of some paints. In Bitumen products as an aggregate substitution. With the use of different cements and compound’s the glass cullet and compound mix is made into high value added products such as table tops, bar counters, grave stones and park benches ect.

The smaller Cruncher is great for eco-estates and Lodges in eco-sensitive areas to reduce the glass by 80% for the reduction in transport costs. Hospitals for the reduction of glass waste before disposal.

Manufacturing is done in Durban South Africa and our Glass Crushers can be found in the following countries so far: South Africa, Mauritius, St. Helena, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Swaziland, Lesotho, Zambia, Mozambique, British Virgin Islands.
